Books - Bridges of Rome
This artist book, The Bridges of Rome, is an abstract interpretation of each of the bridges crossing the River Tiber in Rome, Italy.
The book consists of 18 pages, made of black, hand-made paper, bound with a simple Japanese binding.
Each page represents one bridge in Rome. Through the use of color and shape, they create a mood and impression of the unique bridge through the use of hand-carved linoleum blocks, hand-printed sheets in a multitude of different colors, some of which were then altered by cutting and arranged to produce a one-of-a-kind image. Over 500 prints were made, one at a time, by hand, to create this book.
